About Yasmine Pahlavi
Yasmine Pahlavi (née Etemad-Amini) was born on July 26, 1968, in Tehran, Iran. Her family left Iran during the 1979 revolution and settled in the United States. She graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and later earned a Juris Doctor degree from the same university’s law school. She is a member of the Maryland Bar Association.
Yasmine worked for many years as a staff attorney at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., representing at-risk and underprivileged youth. She also co-founded and directed the Foundation for the Children of Iran. She married Reza Pahlavi in 1986. The couple has three daughters: Noor, Iman, and Farah.
About Reza Pahlavi
Reza Pahlavi was born on October 31, 1960, in Tehran. He is the eldest son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, and Empress Farah Pahlavi. He was officially designated Crown Prince of Iran in 1967 during his father’s coronation.
In 1978 he traveled to the United States for pilot training with the Imperial Iranian Air Force. Following the 1979 Islamic Revolution he has lived in exile. After his father’s death in 1980, Reza Pahlavi became a leading voice of the Iranian opposition abroad. He advocates for a free, secular, and democratic Iran and currently lives in the United States with his wife Yasmine and their three daughters.
