About Elections in Israel
Israel holds national elections to choose the 120 members of the Knesset, its parliament. Voters select political party lists, and seats are allocated according to the share of votes received by qualifying parties.
Because several parties usually win seats, forming a government often involves negotiations and coalition agreements. Election campaigns commonly address issues such as security, the economy, public services, and relations with neighboring countries.
